Canadian Central Barren Ground Caribou bow hunt in Greenland
Spot & Stalk trophy Caribou in the coastal mountains of southwest Greenland. The Caribou in the coastal mountains are more accessible by boat and the best hunting in the open areas is often found a few miles inland where access requires a little more work or in private concessions where access is limited. Our outfitter has access to several private concessions accessible with a short (<1 mile) pack, that have produced good results in recent years, and is the plan moving forward. Caribou don’t always follow the script and the outfitter will move to the animals. You can choose to rent a helicopter, but it’s not recommended as its not needed at this time. This is a fair chase spot and stalk hunt in the late summer / early fall when I temperatures range from 32 to 50f with the weapon (Rifle / Bow / Muzzleoader / Handgun) of your choice. This is a fully guided all-inclusive hunt with a well-established outfitter, one that I’ve worked with for nearly 20 years. Plan to do some fishing after you tag-out as many of the rivers in the hunting area offer Arctic char fishing. There’s also ptarmigan and waterfowl and Arctic fox to hunt at no extra charge. This area has a good population of Caribou and you can expect to see good nice bulls (over 300 inches) and we expect nearly everyone that can hike some to get a good shot at a respectable or better P&Y recognizes the resident Caribou of Greenland as the Canadian Central Barren Ground Caribou.
