Southeast iowa shotgun

Hunt the rolling farm-country of southeastern Iowa in an area famous for producing giant Whitetails. This area has the genetics, feed and most importantly the age-class, to consistently produce Bucks over 150 inches. Success runs well north of 50% on bucks over the 140 inch camp minimum. Our outfitter runs a relatively small, personalized operation on 6,000 acres of managed properties. They have a nice lodge with good hearty meals. Expect to hunt from enclosed, heated shooting houses over-looking Green, or Grain food plots or bottle-necks used to/from the food plots as their main hunting strategy is to employ a low-impact hunt to the food plots. Expect to see lots of deer every day with a solid chance at a real giant. This is a great choice for any for any hunter looking for top-end quality.

Saskatchewan

Wait for your trophy Canadian Whitetail from comfortable heated blind during the peak of the rut in central Saskatchewan. This area has a great population of big –bodied, high scoring mature Whitetail Bucks. It’s remote, with very little hunting pressure and Bucks live to trophy class. Expect to see 10-20 deer per day, and most hunters will tag a good Buck (140-160). Almost every year, a hunter will tag the real deal, one over 170 inches. Northeast Montana

Hunt the famous Milk river area of northeast Montana near Glasgow for good quality Whitetails & Mule Deer. Tag is valid for one deer of either species. This is a fun hunt where you can expect lots of action, with plenty of good Bucks on hand, and we expect everyone that to have an opportunity at a nice (> 140 in whitetail or > 150 in Mule Deer) deer during their hunt. These deer are not hunted as intensely as our typical Midwestern deer and typically move to / from their bedding areas in good shooting light. Ambush your buck via spot and stalk, still-hunt or ground blind, up to you. This hunt fits the best for hunters that are OK with the best Deer they run into (Mule Deer or Whitetail) as each year is different with higher numbers of good animals changing with crops and weather. This is a full-service, all-inclusive, guided hunt on private property with a solid outfitter. The Whitetail focused rifle hunters were 4 for 4 in 2015 and 3 for 3 in 2016, with bucks between 140 – 160.

6-day (2x1) guided hunt: $3,600

Openings for 2020 (entire season) – work with the outfitter to determine dates

Oct 21 thru Nov 26 (MFWP formula season = 37 days ending Sunday after Thanksgiving, Sat start)

How to get the tag

A nonresident Deer “A” tag (either sex / either species) is available only thru the drawing or leftover tags (if available) after the draw.

1) Apply for the Big Bame Combo (Elk & Deer)

a. Sell back the Elk portion – 80% of the Elk portion refunded – subject to change

2) Apply to Deer “A” only license.

The Deer A license has been easy to draw, with 100% draw in recent years but the last few years, but we expect a stronger demand for the Deer “A” only license, and do not expect 100% draw rates in near future.. Therefore, we recommend clients apply for the Big Game Combination License to ensure drawing a tag.
