Grizzly & Brown Bear Rifle Hunts

 Spot and Stalk Coastal Brown Bears in the mountains of Southeast Alaska. The spring time hunts are great rifle hunts as the Bears are on the move, feeding heavily on new vegetation and winter-killed game when available. The Sows will be coming into heat, and the mature Boars are on the prowl. The biggest of the year are often shot in the spring. This area has an excellent population of Bears, and mature Boars should tape between 8 ½ to 9 ½ feet squared. This is a small operation where the outfitter does all the guiding.  Success has been > 75% the last 2 years, and everyone had a chance a mature (> 8 ft) Bear. 

10-day 1x1 Fully Guided Hunt - $15,000

Hunt # 1) April 17 – 28 of 2023  

What is included in hunt cost : 

• Service of licensed professional guide (1x1) for 12-day trip 
  • 10 full-days of hunting 
• All meals, accommodations and transportation on arrival (13 nights) 
• Field preparation of Bear including skinning, and refrigeration 
• Equipment needed during the hunt, including tree stands and steps
• Airport pickup in Hanes the day before the hunt and drop off the day after the hunt  

What is not included :

• Round trip transportation      (from home) to camp 
• Hunting Licenses      and Brown Bear Tag 
• Gratuity to guide      and staff
• Items of personal      nature including safety belt

How to get there:  Fly into Haines via connection in Juneau 

Basic hunting strategy in the Spring:  Backpack into remote mountain drainages where you glass from good vantage points. When a good Bear is located, stalk to within good shooting range and make the shot.

 Hunt Coastal Brown Bears as they fish the salmon streams of southeast Alaska in a great area to Bow Hunt. Ground blinds  are especially effective for Rifle hunting as hunters wait on Brownies to return to their favorite fishing holes during the peak of the salmon spawning runs. Expect a crack at a mature Bear (8 ft – 9 ½ ft) on this hunt. This is a small operation where the outfitter does all the guiding. This hunt books fast as he does only 3 fall hunts / year. Success for high as rifle hunters rarely return without a Bear. This area has excellent Goats nearby and can be added via combination.

Basic hunting strategy: Backpack into remote mountain drainages to pre-assembled tent-camp near active salmon streams. Wait for Bears to fish these remote pockets from tree stands and ground blinds.  Ambush your trophy Grizzly from elevated tree-stand overlooking streams choked with Salmon.
